On Friday 11th August Sunset Cinema returned to Haywood Road with Screen on the Green.
To coincide with the Perseid meteor shower they showed a special screening of Close Encounters of the Third Kind.
On top of this we had Nottingham Astronomical Society who set up three telescopes on the green (viewing Saturn was amazing – you could see the rings AND several of its moons!).
Saturday 12th August saw a screening of the 1987 classic Dirty Dancing, and prior to the film we also had a superb live dance display from Studio 3, Mapperley!
Both nights were a huge success and a great addition to the summer of activities and events we’ve had on the Old Bowling Green.
Not content with this, during the daytime of Saturday 12th August Haywood Road Community Centre hosted a national Scrabble tournament which attracted players from all over the country!
